Designing clarity
for complex systems.

I design regulated fintech and enterprise finance products (banking, tax, compliance, and AI-assisted workflows), working out what’s right to build before deciding how it looks.

Design rooted in
how people work.

Design, to me, is less about how things look and more about working out what’s right to build. It starts with understanding the problem deeply, then connecting the dots between what people need, what the business is trying to achieve, and what the technology and regulations allow.

Most of my work is in regulated enterprise products (tax, banking, compliance, and e-invoicing), where precision is the product. I spend time with users in their day-to-day work, and bring product, engineering, legal, and privacy together early, so the solution holds up for the people using it, the business, and the systems behind it. The goal is products that feel simple because the complexity has been handled well.

How I approach AI

Good AI design is more about trust than technology. Even in Japan, a market that embraces advanced tech, finance teams wanted AI that suggests while people approve.

01

Design for trust

Show what the AI did, and let people change or override it.

02

Start with real needs

Use AI where it genuinely helps customers, not everywhere it could.

03

Stay grounded

Work with product and engineering on what’s feasible, and let the business set the timing.
